It’s time to get going on this. Please show up if you are genuinely interested in helping out with the charity screening for Equality Now. Every year we host a screening at the Portage theater with all the proceeds going to Equality Now. We charge for the movie Serenity (and this year in addition we will show Dr. Horrible!), accept donations, and auction some really cool swag like signed items and other Joss verse stuff. Things we always need help with are setup, cleanup, advertising, getting sponsors, and getting swag to auction and give away. If this opportunity excites you, please show up and join the fun! We always have a great time, and it’s very personally satisfying to know we made a difference!

I will provide something grilled. Please bring a side if you wish to.

Come for the Maibock! (That’s beer, and it’s got quite a kick! muwahahahah)

Get traditional german brats and sides also. We had a great time last year, and I got totally drunk (like I said, maibock has a kick), so if you want to see that show up! Considering the beer comes in 32oz mugs, it’s a pretty good deal too. 

The music is extremely loud, so we will probably look for a table off to the side somewhere. Also, if a few people would be willing to show up a little early to help me stake out table space, that would be greatly appreciated! I had somewhat of a hard time holding table space last year. Besides, showing up early means you get an early start on the beer! Please post if you are willing. 

This is really easy to get to…get off the brown line at western and you are right there.

Browncoats will meet for Dim Sum at 11:30 at Won Kow Restaurant (it is located on the second floor and there is no elevator). The food is good and very reasonably priced. The parade starts at 1pm. We will attempt to get a table near the window so we can watch the parade from there. We also want to work in some planning for the Capricon party meetup at the end of the month.  See that meetup for volunteer opportunities.
