Our 9th Annual Apple Holler Mini-Shindig will be Sat. Oct. 22 at 10:30 a.m. We will meet inside for brunch and then head outside to hang out or pick apples followed by a trip down the road to the Mars Cheese Castle.

If you can attend, please let us know asap. We want to know to look out for you, and, because Apple Holler does not take reservations, we want to be able to ask for enough seats for everyone.

If you missed pre-orders but are going to Cyphan in Rosemont at the end of July, stop by our table and say hi. We’ll have a few goodies from previous shows, as well as tickets to this year’s event.

Tickets will be available at the theater box office on August 20th, but not before then. Tickets will go on sale when the doors open at 6:00. You might want to get in early — there’ll be plenty of good stuff on the auction table for you to peruse and bid on! We visited the neighborhood around the Portage last Friday (yay for a free screening of “Independence Day”!), and made some updates to the Google map that’s linked off the Theater page. Several of the restaurants shown on the underlying Google map have closed, and a few places not yet listed have opened or are about to open, including a new Italian place directly across the street from the theater. Also note that parking rates have gone up, so you might want to take advantage of the free parking over in the Sears lot.

And lastly, if you know where you might find any Browncoats, Dr. Horrible fans (with or without a phD in horribleness), Whedonites, Ski-maniacs or sundry other parties who might be interested, please spread the word! Flyers ranging in size from a quarter-page handbill to a tabloid size poster are available for download on our Promote page. Thanks for helping the signal go further!

We are excited to announce the 2010 Browncoat Ball will be hosted in the beautiful city of Charlotte, NC. Save thedates Oct 22-24, 2010. This event will be more than just a fancy shindig with hot cheese. Its going to be an entire weekend of misbehavin’ Browncoats from all over the known ‘verse. There will be plenty of fun, excitement, camaraderie, costumes, train rides and sweet tea & BBQ for all. Its time for gentlemen to get Rhett Butlery and ladies to get their hoop skirts on. The Browncoat Ball is going Southern and if you didn’t know before, you will know now, how fine Southern hospitality truly is. Join the Charlotte Browncoats and the Greenville Browncoats in this celebration of all things Firefly.
